Supplied with three high-quality professional Japanese Steel A5 blades – a #10F blade, a #7F blade and a #5F blade – this versatile grooming package provides everything needed for routine coat maintenance, hygiene trimming and full body clipping where required.

The #10F blade is ideal for close clipping and precision work around the face, feet and sanitary areas, helping to achieve a clean, hygienic finish. It is also invaluable for trimming around the paw pads and between the toes, making routine maintenance quicker, safer and more comfortable for your dog.

Although the Basenji has a naturally short, fine coat that requires very little trimming, there are occasions when clipping may be beneficial, such as for veterinary preparation, hygiene purposes or managing neglected coats. The #7F blade leaves approximately 3.2mm of coat and is suitable for achieving a short, neat finish where a closer clip is required. The #5F blade leaves approximately 6.4mm of coat, providing a slightly fuller finish while maintaining a tidy, even appearance.

The fine-tooth finish blades produce a smooth, even clip, making them ideal for achieving a professional-looking result. For the best results, the coat should be thoroughly bathed, completely dried and brushed to remove loose hair before clipping. Whilst Basenjis are renowned for their clean, low-maintenance coats and meticulous self-grooming habits, regular brushing helps remove dead hair and keeps the coat in excellent condition. Clipping is generally only required for specific grooming, veterinary or hygiene needs rather than routine coat maintenance.
