This cordless dog clipper set is supplied with three high-grade professional Japanese Steel A5 blades: a #10 blade, a #7 Skip Tooth blade and a #5 Skip Tooth blade, making it particularly well suited to Borzois and other large sighthound breeds with long, flowing coats that require regular maintenance and tidying.

Borzois have a distinctive silky coat that can range from flat to slightly wavy, with feathering on the legs, chest, tail and hindquarters. While their coat is generally less dense than many double-coated breeds, it can still develop tangles, matting and compacted areas, particularly behind the ears, in the feathering and around friction points. The included blade combination has been carefully selected to help maintain the breed’s elegant outline while making routine grooming more efficient and comfortable.

The #10 blade is ideal for close clipping work, making it perfect for the paw pads, sanitary areas and other hygiene-sensitive zones. It is particularly useful for keeping the feet tidy, maintaining cleanliness around the rear and between the paw pads, and ensuring your Borzoi remains comfortable and well groomed between full grooming sessions.

The skip tooth blades are especially beneficial for Borzois, as they glide smoothly through longer coat sections and feathering while helping to lift and separate the hair during clipping. Their wider tooth pattern allows for improved coat penetration in thicker areas, helping to reduce snagging and providing a smoother clipping experience on the breed’s fine, silky coat.

Two body clipping lengths are included in this Borzoi Set. The #7 Skip Tooth blade leaves approximately 3.2mm of coat, making it suitable for practical shorter trims, removing excess coat from heavily feathered areas and helping owners maintain a lower-maintenance coat where appropriate. The #5 Skip Tooth blade leaves approximately 6.4mm of coat, providing a longer finish that retains more of the Borzoi’s natural appearance while helping to keep the coat tidy, manageable and easier to maintain.

Favoured by professional groomers, skip tooth blades are particularly effective when working through longer coats and feathering. They help reduce blade resistance, improve clipping efficiency and are ideal for coat reduction, tidying and preparing the coat for hand scissoring and breed-specific finishing.
