This duo is intended only for occasional finishing touches where appropriate.

Bull Nose Safety Scissors

Designed with rounded tips for extra safety, these scissors may be useful for carefully tidying small amounts of excess hair around your Puli's feet, where needed and with guidance from a groomer experienced with the breed.

Their rounded tips help reduce the risk of accidental pokes while you tidy. Always work slowly, keep the blades clear of the skin and make sure you can clearly see where you are cutting. A Puli's dense coat can conceal skin, so leave hair close to or between the pads to a professional groomer if visibility is limited.

Rounded tips do not remove the risk of injury. Leave difficult or sensitive areas, tightly joined coat and any work close to the skin to a professional.

Thinning Scissors and Your Puli's Coat

Pulis have a distinctive coat that can develop into cords, so their grooming needs differ from those of smooth- or wire-coated breeds. Any finishing work should respect your dog's coat structure and the way it is maintained.

Thinning scissors are generally unsuitable for maintaining a corded Puli coat. They should not be used at home to thin, blend or cut into the cords, as this can disrupt their structure and appearance. If your Puli is kept in a brushed or shorter style, a professional groomer familiar with the breed can advise whether thinning scissors have any appropriate role.

These scissors should not be used at home to remove large amounts of coat or dramatically reshape your dog's outline. This duo does not replace appropriate coat care, including careful cord separation and thorough drying after bathing for a corded Puli.

Whiskers should be left untouched, and mats or tangles should never be cut out with scissors at home. The aim is a comfortable, tidy finish that respects your Puli's coat and distinctive appearance.
