Bull Nose Safety Scissors

Designed with rounded tips for extra safety, these scissors may be useful for carefully tidying small amounts of excess hair around your Pyrenean Shepherd's feet, where needed and appropriate.

Ideal for small areas that require a gentle touch, their rounded tips help reduce the risk of accidental pokes while you tidy. Always work slowly, keep the blades clear of the skin and avoid cutting into mats or tangles. Leave hair close to or between the pads to a professional groomer if you cannot clearly see where you are cutting. Rounded tips do not remove the risk of injury, so leave difficult or sensitive areas to a professional.

Thinning Scissors and a Natural Finish

Pyrenean Shepherds come in rough-faced and smooth-faced varieties, with different coat lengths and textures. Any finishing work should respect your dog's individual coat and characteristic outline.

Routine scissor trimming is generally unnecessary. The rough-faced variety's naturally windswept appearance should be preserved, rather than sculpted into a shaped finish.

Thinning scissors should only be considered for very minor finishing work if a professional groomer familiar with Pyrenean Shepherd coats recommends it. They should not be used at home to thin the body coat, cut into any naturally forming cords or take off large amounts of hair.

This duo does not replace regular grooming and appropriate coat care. Whiskers should be left untouched, and mats or tangles should never be cut out with scissors at home. The aim is a neat finish that preserves your Pyrenean Shepherd's natural coat texture and distinctive appearance.
