Supplied with three high-quality professional Japanese Steel A5 blades – a #10F blade, a #7F blade and a #5F blade – this versatile grooming package provides everything needed for routine hygiene trimming, veterinary preparation and occasional body clipping where appropriate.

The #10F blade is ideal for close clipping and precision work around the sanitary areas, paw pads and other areas requiring careful trimming, helping to achieve a clean, hygienic finish. It is also suitable for preparing small areas of coat for veterinary procedures where necessary, making routine maintenance quicker and more convenient.

The Whippet has a naturally short, smooth and fine coat that lies close to the body, giving the breed its distinctive sleek and elegant appearance. Unlike longer-coated breeds, Whippets require very little coat maintenance and generally benefit from regular brushing with a soft grooming brush or rubber grooming mitt to remove loose hair and maintain a healthy shine. Their delicate skin and thin coat mean that grooming should always be carried out gently to avoid irritation or discomfort. Routine care should also include checking and cleaning the ears, inspecting the paw pads, keeping the nails neatly trimmed and maintaining good general hygiene. Whippets do not normally require full body clipping, as their short coat provides natural protection and insulation. The #7F blade leaves approximately 3.2mm of coat and is suitable for closer clipping when required for veterinary or practical grooming applications. However, as the Whippet's natural coat is already extremely short and fine, these blades should only be used where there is sufficient coat length to justify clipping. They are not intended for routine full-body grooming of a healthy Whippet.

For the best results, the coat should be clean, completely dry and free from dirt or loose hair before clipping. Particular care should be taken when working around the Whippet's delicate skin, especially over prominent bones and sensitive areas. Regular brushing, gentle bathing when necessary, ear cleaning and nail maintenance are generally all that is required to keep a Whippet looking its best. As a naturally short-coated breed, clipping should be kept to a minimum to preserve the coat's protective qualities and sleek appearance.
