With a Rockwell hardness rating of HRC 62, this ice-tempered blade maintains its edge longer than most other clipper blades, offering exceptional longevity.

The Masterclip PROFESSIONAL 8.5 narrow blade features a 2.4mm cutting depth, making it ideal for achieving a smooth, even finish. On dogs, it is widely used for full-body clipping, suitable for a variety of coat types from fine and soft through to mixed and wiry textures.

On horses, the 8.5 narrow width A5 blade is ideal for trimming and detailing sensitive areas such as the head, bridle path, ears and muzzle. It gives a clean and sharp finish, pairing nicely with either the 8.5 wide A5 blade or also matching well with the 2.5mm A2 medium blade if using a heavy duty horse clipper such as the Masterclip HD Roamer.

For the best results, thoroughly wash and dry the coat before clipping, brushing out any tangles or mats to ensure the blade glides smoothly. Always hold the blade flat against the coat, following the natural contour of the animal.
